Dear Friends and Colleagues,
We’re just a few days shy of the deadline for paper proposals (22 February) and about six weeks shy for this year’s Midwest Junto meeting (1-3 April)
here at UNL, and so I thought I would write to remind you of these facts and ask you to consider making a proposal yourself, and/or encouraging one of your colleagues or students to do so. I have, incidentally, already received a number of proposals.
I’ve posted this year’s meeting announcement and registration form on the HSS website, as well as on the sites of SHOT, AAHM, H-Net Academic, and Facebook. ISU will continue to maintain the Junto’s webpage, and you’ll find a copy of the announcement and form there, too.
Please remember that I’ve reserved discounted rooms at the Downtown Holiday Inn, which is very close to the UNL campus, and that it’s important to reserve your room sufficiently ahead of time (before 20 March at the latest) so as to ensure the discount. (Contact the Downtown HI directly to make your reservation; see the announcement on the HSS website for details.) And please remember to send in your registration form and check for the registration and the banquet as soon as you can, too.
